It's funny how life works sometimes. Here I am plugging away at life and WHAMMO - I hit a speed bump. Like many folks out there, my creative hobby is my passion. I love creating and expressing myself. I love the challenge of starting my own shops on ETSY and ARTFIRE and have so much to learn, but I am champing at the bit to learn it. My sister and I inspire each other and keep each other going.
Right as I was poised to go full throttle with everything Spindlegraphics, some darkness fell into my life. My "real" job has been hit by the economy and our entire office is closing very, very soon. So I am again redirected to "real" life and need to get all of that figured out.
Trying to balance finding a "real" job and trying to make my passion my "real" job has thrown me for a loop! Is anyone else out there experiencing the same difficulties?
Also - I LITERALLY need some light. I can tweak my shop photos until the cows come home, but I have to admit that I need some better in-home lighting to get my pictures crisp and clean the way I like to see them.

Ugh. Sorry about your job. I've been holding my breath for the last few weeks. Our industry is such that if I can make it through the winter without having hours cut, I'll be good for the rest of the year...But winter still has a couple months left.

yeah Ange, apart from taking the stuff outside into direct sunlight (which is great if you can be bothered) you can make yourself a light box, which they show how on the etsy tutorials and storque ... might be a fun project. Other than that you can scan things ... and another thing I've seen recently which I want to do is to make really fun and beautiful shots of your work with people responding to them, eg a little girl ripping open and envelope to see the card inside, or a sweet teenage couple swapping cards, etc ... maybe your drama could come in useful?!
also I just joined a street team with etsy and have gotten so much more exposure.
other ideas is to get a job in a scrapbooking store, or run classes???
